Mākoura College operates two radio stations - Hit Student Radio and Kōhanga Mātauranga - both broadcast 24/7 from our transmission sites right here in the school grounds.
Hit Student Radio is our contemporary hit music radio station playing Top 40 Tracks, New Music and a few Old School Hits. As well as broadcasting on an FM frequency, Hit Student Radio is streaming online.
Kōhanga Mātauranga is our reo Māori radio station playing contemporary waiata Māori with a few older tracks. It's a platform for ākonga to speak their reo. Check back soon for Kōhanga Mātauranga's live stream.
You can tune in to our stations from your home and/or car radio. Our coverage area is about 3 - 5 kilometres from the school, but some geographical or building features around the town can interrupt our signal. Basically, if you are close to the college you'll be able to tune in.
You can contact either station at this email address: studio@mc.school.nz
