Are you our next Coach?

Coaches are valuable assets throughout the community, and at Mākoura College, we want to  tautoko our coaches in as many ways as possible.

The Mākoura Coach Community (MCC) is  to provide support and opportunities to our Mākoura school coaches to ensure development and retention from season to season. This enables us to offer development strategies to enhance the delivery of sport at the school. By focusing on the coaching culture within Mākoura College, we hope coaches will feel supported and valued and therefore look forward to continuing coaching at the school. Mākoura College implements the Mākoura Coach Community (MCC) through our Teacher In-charge, whose role is to support the coaches in a variety of ways, such as:

• Coach development - through local RSO's - Connecting + Sharing 
• Student Coach development 
• Observations  - through RSO's and group connects 
• Resource sharing of best coaching practice with our coaching network
• Options to attend the Sports Academy options such as strapping, nutrition
• Attend sports tournaments and exchanges 

Here at Mākoura we want to work with and around individual needs for the development of each coach and enhance the learning experience for our own ākonga. If you have any pātai regarding taking up this volunteer role, please don’t hesitate to contact our Sports Department.
