The Student Prefects at Mākoura are respected student leaders who represent and uphold the values of our kura through leadership, service, and positive action. They play a vital role in supporting students, strengthening school culture, and leading by example. Our Whaia te Aroha Student Prefects, Anahera, Keilah, and Lynnal, are our “build the culture” leaders who show manaakitanga by putting people, service, and culture at the heart of all they do. They help create a welcoming and caring environment where students feel included, supported, and connected. Our Whaia te Pono Student Prefects, Silas and Altezza, are our “raise the standard” leaders who encourage achievement, self-pride, and a commitment to excellence.

Our Whaia te Tika Student Prefects, Genuine, Monica, and Fiamate, are our “get things done right” leaders who focus on organisation, student voice, and school events. They help ensure everything runs smoothly while making sure students have opportunities to be heard and involved. Together, all of our Student Prefects proudly reflect the values of Mākoura and make a positive impact across our kura each day through their leadership, dedication, and service.
