Mākoura College student Sam Courtney produced a solid performance at the Wairarapa Secondary Schools Lawn Bowls finals, finishing second overall at the Masterton Bowls Club.

In the final against Ashley Maxwell (Chanel College), Sam was involved in a close match where the lead changed several times. Both players showed good control and accuracy, with the result decided in the final end when Ashley delivered a bowl close to the jack to take the win.

Sam’s result reflects a consistent season and a positive performance in a competitive field. Reaching the final is a strong achievement and highlights the progress made over the course of the competition.

The finals evening featured a number of tight matches and was well supported by staff and the local bowls community. Thanks were extended to the Masterton Bowls Club for hosting the event.
