Kia ora Makoura Whānau - Ngā mihi nui ki a koutou

During Easter weekend of 2018 (Friday 30 March 2018 - Sunday 1 April 2018), Makoura College will be celebrating 50 years of teaching and learning. This will be an amazing opportunity for you to catch up with old friends, teachers and colleagues from your time at Makoura.

Principal’s message

Kia ora koutou. Dear former students, staff and past and present friends of Makoura College

We very much hope you will be able to join us for our school’s 50th anniversary reunion celebration during Easter weekend 30th March - 1st April 2018.

Over the half century since those first Makora College classes of 1968, the school has been a focal point of challenge and inspiration for hundreds of the younger and older people connected with it.

There will no doubt be many vivid memories waiting to be activated by a return visit to the school, and the reunion weekend has been set up to provide a range of contexts for renewing friendships with familiar or perhaps partly forgotten faces from ‘old school’ days. Here is your opportunity to revisit those bygone formative moments and influences on site with the original ‘cast’(!)

Many thanks to the Makoura Reunion Committee for their planning and preparation. We look forward to a nostalgic weekend of reeling in the years.

Best wishes

Paul Green
